31/12/19 – Dinky has found a home!
Dinky has been having a tough time recently. He’s a gorgeous boy with great character and typical terrier personality who is now looking for a special home. He recently came into the care of St. Francis Home for Animals in Newquay, Cornwall, as his lifelong owner died. He was rehomed but his new owners returned him as he was not happy with people visiting the home.
Dinky is an 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier and has the team laughing daily at his funny and quirky personality. He is a pleasure to walk and is able to walk alongside calm dogs whilst out about; however he can be a little pushy with them.
The reason he is looking for a special home is that certain situations have led him to believe he needs to guard his favourite member of the family unit. This has caused difficulty and has led to him being returned to the rescue.
Consequently, Dinky is looking for a home with no more than two people and owners who are ready and prepared to manage his potential to guard one person in the household. Dinky has his reasons for feeling the need to do this and it will take time, love, patience and guidance for him to learn he doesn’t need to.
Dinky is a fairly active boy so he still enjoys long walks. He worries when left home alone and needs someone who can be at home most of the day initially. He unfortunately cannot live with other dogs, cats or children. He is house-trained.
As Dinky is a sensitive chap and it takes him time to feel comfortable around new people, he will need several meets with you before he is ready to go to his forever home. Once you have earned his trust, he will be the most loyal and loving dog. To the right home this boy will give nothing but love, but his insecurities are holding him back.
