13/4/20 – Shankly has found a home!

Shankly is an 8-year-old Patterdale Terrier who is at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool.

Handsome Shankly was originally at Freshfields in 2016 due to the arrival of a baby in his home, but then his family felt they had made a mistake and so Freshfields allowed them to take him back. Then he found himself at Freshfields again, due to a change in his owner’s work hours. He was soon rehomed, but he has now been returned after several weeks due to biting twice, both times were in high-stress situations. Shankly had never bitten prior to this and Freshfields believe a combination of stress, along with an ongoing complaint with his ears, sadly led to this. He desperately deserves a second chance, in a quiet home where he will be allowed time to settle.

Shankly is a sweet, sociable boy who is still very active and he thoroughly enjoys walkies and playing with toys. He has mixed well with other dogs in the past but it’s not certain that he would be able to live with them. He does not like cats. Shankly came from a busy family home with young children, however due to the incidents that occurred in the last home, he needs an adult-only home, free from young children (including visiting children) and with no children planned for the future.

Shankly is clean and non-destructive in the home and is okay to be left alone for a couple of hours. He is in good health but is currently on medication for issues with his ears that it is hoped will improve with treatment.

He is a fun, friendly little chap who desperately deserves a second chance at happiness. Could you offer Shankly a new home?
