08/11/2020 – Coal has been adopted! Hooray!

Poor Coal arrived in the care of Safe Rescue after spending 5 or 6 years in a Romanian shelter and needs a forever home above all else. He is currently in foster care in Norwich, Norfolk.

Coal is a 9 year old, medium-sized Crossbreed and, initially, he was very shut-down but he’s actually surprised everyone as he has learned so much in just a short time and is already cheering up and starting to enjoy life. Coal will accept fuss from humans but is not yet seeking it out or fully understanding why it’s necessary; this too will come with time, love and patience.

Coal is a quiet boy who is very undemanding. He’s beginning to enjoy his walks, but there’s still a lot to get used to out and about after spending such a long time imprisoned away from everything. He is fine with other dogs but doesn’t seem particularly reliant on them so and could go as an only dog if required.

What Coal really needs is a home with someone who will understand that he’s been deprived of so much for so long and he will continue to grow in confidence in the coming months. Despite his change in demeanour already, from hiding in corners and under tables to being out and about and showing interest in the world around him, his tail has yet to start to wag. That day will come in the not too distant future and whoever gets rewarded with that will be very lucky indeed to share that moment with him.

Coal is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
