9/7/20 – We are delighted to hear that, at last, lovely old Neo has found a new home. Brilliant news!

Poor old Neo is such a loving lad of 11 years and has been in kennels now at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool for so long that it’s simply not on! He could be forgiven if he started to malfunction…

… however, as soon as he outside, in the real world of grass and nice smells, he’s an altogether different dog!

He’s a friendly boy and gets on with most other dogs he meets but he wants to be the only pet at home. It’s his time to be thoroughly spoilt now.

Neo is looking for an adult only home as he’s reached a time of life when a relaxed routine is called for. He’d had a very tough time before coming to the rescue which adds to his need for predictability and only happy times. Like jolly outings…

…toy wrangling…

…and plenty of snuggly nap time.

It’s thought he’ll be OK on his own for a few hours after he’s had time to settle in to his new home and building up the time gradually. Although he’s still active, he does a fair bit of lounging too.

Neo is tired of kennel life. As with many dogs, he can give the wrong impression by being vocal when excited. This might have contributed to how long he’s been waiting. Once he’s away from kennels, he’s so happy and calm!

It’s such a shame that most visitors can’t see past the excitement to the soppy old boy he really is. Staff and volunteers take him out for lovely times as much as possible but sooner or later he has to go back to his kennel. No matter how cosy they make his bed, it’s just not the same as a home of his own.

If you might be that special someone who can see past first impression in kennels to this…
