Star & Ella (The Mutts Nutts Rescue, Lincolnshire)

Star at the back and Ella at the front

9/6/20 – Star and Ella have settled very nicely in a long-term foster home!

Star is a 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl who arrived at The Mutts Nutts Rescue in Lincolnshire with her ‘sister’ Ella, an 8-year-old Parsons Terrier. They appear on Mutts Nutts’ Facebook page and are hoping to find a new home together ASAP.

They are lovely dogs who sadly have had a very traumatic recent past. Star has an even greater mountain to climb as she has a sarcoma on her back leg so will need continuing veterinary support. Mutts Nutts will do everything possible to help their new owner with costs associated with Star’s condition ā€“ she so deserves her chance of happiness!

Star loves being around people and will sit up on her back legs to ask for belly rubs (she has an excellent singing voice too!). She promises to make you laugh, especially when she does one of her favourite things, roly-polys in the paddock!

When Ella first arrived, she was very nervous ā€“ hiding behind lovely Star for support. But slowly Ella is showing her true personality as a very sweet and playful girl who enjoys being close to you. She greatly enjoys her walks and charging around with Star.

Although Ella enjoys walks with other dogs, she can be reactive and a little possessive of her toys and treats. Ella and Star need a home together as your only pets in an adult home as Ella will best suit a home without children. Ella will need to be allowed time to come out of her shell and build up confidence. Once you have gained her trust, she will pay it back with her loyalty and lots of kisses.

Ella is a typical busy terrier, and Star, in spite of her condition, is full of beans, so they need an active owner. Star is strong on her lead, so needs someone willing to put the time in to train her ā€“ she wants to please you, but doesnā€™t always work out how.

Star is neutered but Ella isn’t neutered yet. They are microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment. They will be fully vaccinated before leaving for their new home.
