————-

Barbie is a 9-year-old Hungarian Puli who is with Pupcakes Rescue in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Barbie is an ex-breeding bitch who was purchased from her breeder and imported into the UK by a family a few months ago. Unfortunately they failed to take into consideration that as Barbie had spent her whole life living in rural Hungary, she may not be best suited to a town house in the busy centre of London. Poor wee Barbie quite simply couldn’t cope with the noise, people and traffic. The family did not feel they were in a position to help her move forward with her anxieties and reactivity and so she is now with Pupcakes.

Barbie has probably spent most of her life doing her own thing without a great deal of interaction. She has most likely not even lived in a home. She is anxious and is particularly worried about sudden movements around her from feet and hands, and also general household noises.

As Barbie is a very anxious and sensitive dog, she thrives on structure and routine. She does not cope well with aspects of her day-to-day life changing, nor being exposed to excessively busy environments, loud noises or sudden erratic movements. Outside the house she is incredibly reactive and so needs owners who are consistent, understanding, and willing to use redirection tactics in order to stop Barbie reacting when she is unsure of something.

Barbie needs a home with no children, resident or visiting. Though she could potentially live with a calm dog, she would probably be best as an only dog. She could live with a dog-savvy cat.
