8/4/22 – Edison has found a home
Edison came into the care of Safe Rescue recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania where he had been for 4 or 5 long, lonely years. Conditions there are very harsh and many do not survive to see outside the shelter walls ever again. He’s now happily settled in a foster home in Thetford, Norfolk, and ready to go to his new, forever home where fences and gates must be 5ft minimum and secure.
Edison is a small to medium size Crossbreed of around 9 years old and he is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is a sweet and quiet boy who is recovering from the years of hardship at a rapid pace! Initially, he would air snap and flinch when touched, but within hours he was bathed, groomed and on the sofa staring mesmerised at the tv. By teatime the same day, he perked up at the sight of food and dared to approach to ask for some. An hour later, he was cuddled up to a human and in a deep and relaxed sleep.
On day two, Edison was approaching and asking for a fuss and actually enjoying the touch of human hands. All in all, this boy is quite special and his resilience appears to show no bounds.
Edison is looking for a quiet and peaceful retirement home. He is okay with other dogs but likes his own space when eating or sleeping. He has taken to walking on a lead rather quickly and will enjoy gentle strolls once he gains confidence. He would like an adult-only environment, perfect for this delightful older gent and he deserves now to get spoilt rotten for the rest of his life.
Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from Safe Rescue must wear a slip lead on walks for the duration of their lives. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
