Have you got a soft spot for quirky dogs? If so, Marzipan is just the lady for you. She has been fostered by Safe Rescue since mid 2018 and is living in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk. Prior to that, she spent 3 years in a Romanian shelter,
Marzipan is a 7 year old, medium-sized Crossbreed. She is not a bad dog at all, rather she is a quirky and unlucky dog. She suffers from some anxieties that do not make her difficult to manage but make her difficult to understand. She has been rehomed twice and both times returned for her quirkiness.
The majority of the time, Marzipan is a playful, lovable, sweet dog and perfectly normal. However, if a plane goes over, she can become tense and panicky and will look for a place to hide for a while. It’s best just to let her do her thing and come out when she’s ready and it’s really not a big deal, it’s just her. Other times, a plane will go over and she won’t bat an eyelid.
If she’s out and something spooks her, she will hide under a bush but, if you keep walking, she will follow and find another bush ahead of you until you catch up. Another time, she might decide she’s scared of joggers, or traffic, or a piece of litter on the floor…. or a leaf! She’s odd…. if you like odd, she would be a great companion, but she cannot be rehomed and returned again for being odd.
Marzipan is also very travel sick, probably also due to anxiety. She gets on well with other dogs but has not been introduced to cats. She will need an adult home with someone who doesn’t stress when she’s hiding or when she doesn’t want to go for a walk, but allows her to be different and embraces it. She needs a quiet home away from heavy traffic and crowds … and airports.
Marzipan is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
