4/8/21 – Lovely Rogue has found a home already!

————-

Just look at that sweet old face! It belongs to Rogue, who isn’t a rogue at all! He’s a gentle 15-year-old Staffy X who has sadly found himself in need of a new home after his owner died. He is with Rescue Remedies, in boarding kennels near Gatwick.

After his owner died, a relative took Rogue in, but then they moved in with a new partner and the landlord refused to allow Rogue to stay. Rogue is a very lucky boy as, having run out of options, he was taken to the vet to be put to sleep, but the vet knew that Rogue was in good health, having recently done bloods and a dental. So Rogue was signed over to the vet who then vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed him. The vets then spent hours on the phone trying to find a rescue to help Rogue, and Rescue Remedies thankfully offered him a place.

Rogue is a lovely old lad who enjoys his walks and is spritely for his age. He is simply looking for a warm, loving and quiet home with a comfy bed and somewhere to potter and enjoy the rest of his retirement years.

A Rescue Remedies volunteer said: “I met Rogue on Saturday and what a gorgeous little fellow he is. He was napping when I went to get him and so it took a bit of coaxing to get him out of his bed, but he quickly joined me and was ready to head out. His tail was wagging as soon as we were walking and he seemed to enjoy exploring the world. He might be an older boy but he certainly kept the pace up and wanted to keep going anytime I showed any sign of slowing down. Lots of people stopped to say hi and admire this handsome boy.”

Another said: “Rogue trotted along at such a gentle pace and I noticed he would walk around the puddles if he could rather than through them! He was extremely calm and friendly when he saw other dogs and people.”

Could you offer Rogue the peaceful and loving home he so deserves at this point in his life? A dog of his age really doesn’t want to be spending his days in kennels.
