Roxy (Cheltenham Animal Shelter, Gloucestershire)

Roxy is a cuddly 8-year-old Bull Mastiff girl who is at Cheltenham Animal Shelter in Gloucestershire.

Gorgeous Roxy is a sweet girl who loves all humans but would like to be in an adult-only home with someone who has the physical strength to manage her as she can be very strong. Roxy doesn’t like other animals so needs to be the only pet in her new home and she cannot have neighbouring dogs, nor cats that visit the garden.

A home in the quiet countryside would be perfect for Roxy as she needs space away from other dogs while on her walk, and she needs to be kept on lead at all times unless in the home or in a hired, secure paddock.

Roxy loves playing with toys and will do anything that involves her getting food treats. Roxy was overweight when she arrived in rescue so Cheltenham Animal Shelter have been working hard on reducing her weight. Roxy needs a new owner who is committed to helping her lose more to achieve her ideal weight.

This adorable girl has no known medical issues. She is on a weight loss journey and is waiting until it has been three months after her season before being neutered, which the shelter will pay for if done at their vets.

Although the rescue doesn’t have strict rules about only rehoming to the local area, they do require a minimum of three visits to their dogs, so you would need to be able to do that. They will then need landlord permission (if applicable), photos of where the dog will be and the garden (including the perimeter), a talk with their behaviourist about how to transition into the home, and any quirks.

Could you offer big Roxy exactly the type of home she needs?
