This is gorgeous Ruben who was relinquished by his owners and is now looking for a new home with the help of Wellingborough Dog Welfare in Northamptonshire.

Ruben is a dinky, 12 year old Whippet Cross Staffy and is such a dear little soul; just lovely with people and likes to say hello. He may be 12, but he is a bouncy, little pocket rocket – a 5 year old in a 12 year old body. He is very responsive to his name and is a really sweet dog that needs a quiet retirement home where he will be taken for walks and people to play ball with him.

Ruben loves his food and treats, but he is a snatcher and it’s like he has never had food before the way he takes treats and food. He loves to play ball and is super quick; he will bark at you if you don’t throw it quickly enough. He is a bit snatchy with a ball as well so can do with a little training.

Ruben is just looking some love and TLC for however many years he has left. He travels really well in the car. He is crate-trained and is okay being left. He can be growly with other dogs, so he needs to be the only dog and no cats please. Any children in the home should be 14+ and dog-savvy. He can bark at men sometimes as he was previously abused by men and he isn’t keen on loud, heavy items.

Being an older dog, Ruben does have cataracts and a few little skin tags and bumps. Please don’t let his age put you off as he is still very full of life and beans. Apart from his grey face, you wouldn’t think he was twelve the way he acts.
