Sweet Sam needs your help please. He is currently living in a foster home in Hertfordshire provided by Blind Dog Rescue but this is only until August. Ideally, he would love to find his forever home before then but, if not, a foster home would mean not having to go into kennels.

Sam is a large-sized, 25kg Crossbreed who has been in foster care for several months. He is fully-sighted and born approximately 2013. Not much is known about his background or history, but he is looking for a patient household where he will be given the time and space to become comfortable and where he is ideally the only dog, though he could possibly be rehomed with an older, female dog but not cats.

Sam is particularly fond of food, which gives him lots of potential for learning new things. He has learned all the basic commands and he has adapted instantly to living in the house. Sam can be a bit nervous initially around men but, once he knows they are okay and not too scary, he is very affectionate. Sam currently lives in an adult household with a male and he has hugely increased in confidence over this time but may take a few initial meetings with new males until he realises they are fine.

Sam is his best self when he is on a walk trying to sniff out the rabbits and an area for improvement is his interactions with other dogs. He prefers to keep his own space but equally can seem very eager and excited to play. He has bags of potential and is looking for a home willing to give him the time and training to further succeed.

You can watch Sam’s video here. Please note BDR UK do not rehome their dogs to families where children are under 10 years old.
