28/5/22 – Dear Dash has now gone to his new home and looking forward to his life there.

Dash is a wonderful 11-year-old Border Collie boy who is with RSPCA Burton upon Trent & District Branch, Staffordshire. His elderly owner was finding Dash too energetic and wasn’t able to meet his needs.

Lovely Dash has taken a while to settle in at the rescue. At first he was very confused about what was happening which made him extremely nervous and he became quite snappy. But with time, patience and lots of TLC, Dash has now turned a corner and is showing his true self with his lovely, affectionate personality.

Dash loves being out on walks and is still very spritely for an 11 year old. He does have a little arthritis in his back legs, for which he has started taking anti-inflammatories. He seems to be used to being let off the lead quite a lot, as he does zig-zag on the lead, and when he reaches open spaces he stops and looks round, anticipating his lead coming off.

He can be quite excited and animated around other dogs, and is very happy to see some dogs but not others. He has also started playing with his toys, which is a delight to watch.

Dash needs a calm and understanding owner in a child-free home, and a home where he won’t be left for long periods. You will need to visit Dash a few times to build up a bond with him before adoption.
