Adorable Duke has recently arrived from Romania where he did have a home presumably for the last 7 years until his owner decided to leave town and left Duke behind. He was subsequently caught or reported to the dog catchers who put him in the local public shelter. Although his previous owner said he would return for him, he never did and so this boy was left with no future, basically abandoned after all those years

Duke is 7 yrs old and he is neutered, vaccinated, health screened, microchipped and registered in the U.K. He has been in the U.K. since New Years Eve and Cloud K9 Rescue have promised him that his life changes from now. He has settled beautifully into foster care and it is as if he has been there months.

Duke is such a happy chap, clean in the home and gets along well with resident dogs. He is okay to be left alone for short periods, loves going for a walk and he walks nicely on a lead. Duke is quiet, loves cuddles and enjoys his food. Even though he is not a big dog height-wise, he currently weighs 23.5kg and could do with losing some weight; a sensible diet and steadily increased exercise will be so beneficial. You can watch a video of him here.

The kind of home hoped for Duke is one that is fairly peaceful. He could happily live as an only dog and maybe with a female companion. He would like daily exercise, a cosy, comfy bed, lots of love and TLC, preferably within the Yorkshire region to avoid him travelling miles. Duke has not been cat tested or child tested.
