Snuggly boy Hughie is a Staffy Cross of 7 years. He’s in kennels in Stoke-on-Trent through Senior Staffy Club. He’s looking for an active lifestyle as an only pet where any youngsters are teenage, as he can be a bit bouncy.

Hughie loves chew toys and treats so he’s easy to train. He spent some time in foster care and now does an excellent “sit” and “wait”. He’d love to have owners who will teach him more things.

He likes to be busy and puzzles or scent work are good ways to bond with him as well. If you want to just keep him amused, a chew will occupy his full attention until it’s all gone…

…but he does love to interact…

…cuddles and belly rubs are his absolute favourite thing!

Hughie is super friendly with all people. When volunteer walkers come to his kennel he can jump up very high with exuberance. He walks nicely on the lead, not to heel as everything is so exciting but he doesn’t pull.

He will ignore other dogs if they’re at a safe distance but he doesn’t like them approaching. It’s best to walk him where there won’t be any off-lead dogs who might alarm him. He has plenty of energy and loves quite long walks. One volunteer walker said, “He’s a sweet cuddle monster who under his bouncy exterior has a sensitive, gentle soul”.

Hughie travels well in the car. He prefers it if there’s someone next to him on the back seat. He does need a restraint to make sure he doesn’t scramble though to the front of the car to be nearer to you. He’s a very good boy at the vets. He doesn’t mind being poked and prodded by a complete stranger. He’s just so friendly!

Hughie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and in good health. He’s fully house trained and is content to sleep on his own at night. He will greet you in the morning as though he hasn’t seen you for days!

If you’d like to know more about this loving, cheerful boy please read his full profile on the Senior Staffy Club website, under which you can fill in their online adoption enquiry form.
