Bokki, a lovely Miniature Pinscher lady, has lived in the same home since a puppy but a change of circumstances has meant she now needs to find a new home where she will be treasured as much as before. Meanwhile, she is being cared for by Chilterns Dog Rescue Society until then.

Bokki is 10 years old (dob 19/3/2013) and her former owners parted with her with the greatest of reluctance and were keen to stress what a loving, alert, sensitive little dog she is. She has enjoyed quite a quiet life without young children in the home and would be hoping for something similar again.

Typical of the breed, Bokki can be a bit worried when first meeting new people but quickly settles down and is polite and friendly. She enjoys regular on–lead walks (her recall is not great) and the odd mad dash around the garden, but then she looks forward to cuddles on the couch.

Bokki has always lived with another small male dog, but she is relatively independent so would be happy to be the only dog in the home. She has not lived with cats and might chase one if the opportunity presented itself. She is used to travelling by car. She is generally relaxed when going out and about but has also been used to staying at home on her own a couple of times a week for 2 – 3 hours without showing any signs of distress.

In recent years, Bokki was allowed to become very fat but she has been on a steady diet and is now approaching an optimum weight for her breed. She is not very bothered about dog food, but is very fond of human food and treats, so her new owner will need to be fairly strict around food management to stop any extra weight from piling on again.

Bokki has recently had a full health check. This included dental care when her teeth were scaled and polished and one unstable incisor removed. Two small lumps were removed while she was under general anaesthetic. These were tested and confirmed as benign lesions originating from the hair follicles. Two other small lumps have been sampled and confirmed as keratin producing cysts which should not cause any problems. Having confirmed there are no serious health issues, Bokki is now ready to embark on the next stage of her life.
