Hunter has spent the last 8 or 9 years of his life in a private shelter in Romania. Until a few months ago, he shared a pen with other dogs that he lived amicably with for years. Sadly, a few months ago for an unknown reason they all attacked him and he was very seriously injured. As you can see from the photo, he is still healing from that attack but is lucky to be alive.

Hunter is a medium-sized Crossbreed who is believed to be around 14 years old. When Safe Rescue met him last November, he was in a pen on his own and their hearts really went out to him. He’s now settled in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk, and looking for a lovely retirement home where he can be pampered and spoilt rotten.

Despite his ordeal, Hunter is still very comfortable around other dogs but could also live as an only dog. His eyesight is poor, but he is still a happy and contented boy who is just so happy to have a warm and comfy bed to sleep in. He could live with well-behaved, respectful children aged 10+ but really just wants to sleep a lot and just know he is safe and loved.

Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Hunter’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook
