12/2/2023 Gorgeous Roux is very happy to be in her new home.

Little poppet Roux is a Pomeranian Cross of about 7 years. She’s currently in a multi-dog foster home in Hingham, Norfolk, through Safe Rescue. She wants a peaceful, child-free retirement home either as an only pet or possibly with one or two compatible dog friends.
Roux is a big character in a small, fluffy package. She prefers women to men but she does get on OK with the man in her foster home. She bonds very strongly with one person and has a tendency to guard that person. Her foster carers have found ways to manage this and her adopters will need to find methods to keep her sensible.
There are many ways to help with this sort of thing, for instance, having the other person be the one to walk and feed a jealous dog usually helps. Having the patience to find what works is the important thing and her cuteness and love are certainly worth the effort. Food is certainly the way to Roux’s heart and she will sit etc. for a treat. Being a very bright girl, she’s highly trainable.
Roux gets agitated about people visiting the house and her foster carers put her in her crate to calm down when anyone comes round. This helps her settle as she knows she’s completely safe and it’s not her responsibility to make sure the visitors are goodies not baddies. Bless her! Once she’s calmed down and can see that all is well, she’s fine to be let out again to say hello nicely.
Roux is clean in the house and very well behaved on walks. She just ignores other dogs and people when out and about. She had previously been the only dog at home until coming in to foster care. She’s started to interact and even play with her foster siblings now! That’s why it’s thought she’d be equally happy living with other compatible dogs or as the only one, being the centre of attention. She’s a very loving and loveable little lady.
Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
