Ernie (Safe Rescue, fostered Norfolk)

Poor Ernie was one of the sadly emaciated dogs that was rescued by Safe Rescue from a Romanian public shelter and moved to a private shelter a few months ago. He quickly put weight on, grew stronger and is now in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk, looking for his first ever proper home.

Ernie is a medium to large Labrador Cross aged around 8 years old. Ernie was very shut-down and damaged back at the public shelter but, lying inside the broken shell, was a really sweet boy who really does want human love and affection.

Ernie is extremely subtle when asking for fuss but, once he receives it, he’s really loving the attention. Ernie gets on well with other dogs but he could also live happily as an only dog. He could live with respectful children aged 10 plus, but he really would like a peaceful retirement home.

Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Ernie’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook.
