Poor Ophelia was a terrified little soul in a shelter that
Safe Rescue
visited in January this year and just couldn’t leave her there. She’s now safely being looked after in a foster home in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, until her forever home come along.

Ophelia is a small (but heavy as she’s overweight) Crossbreed. She is believed to be around 10 – 12 years old. Ophelia is a sweet, very lazy, little girl. She likes people and loves a fuss but, when strangers approach, she will cower as she thinks she’s going to be hit.

It’s hoped that Ophelia will be a little more energetic once she has lost some weight and in better shape, but a gentle stroll once a day is likely to be sufficient for her. Currently, she sleeps the majority of the time and absolutes loves her bed.

Ophelia is rather oblivious to other dogs and so could live with or without them. She needs a quiet home environment where she can at least relax and feel safe.

Sadly, when Ophelia had the necessary vet checks, she tested positive for heartworm. She will come with the full treatment for this at no cost to the adopter.

Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Ophelia’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook.
