This is lovely Shelagh, a Labrador Cross, who came to RSPCA Tameside & Glossop Branch as her family could no longer care for her. She has been in care for several months waiting for an ideal time to be spayed.
Shelagh is now neutered and ready to find her forever family where she can spend her later years. She is a lovely girl who is full of life and fun. She is very well-behaved in the house and when out and about and doesn’t pull as much as when she first arrived. Her foster carers are working on this and she has greatly improved.
Shelagh is looking for a family where there is at least one person around for most of the time, although she can be left alone for a while when a shopping trip is needed. She is happy to live with children and be around other dogs, though cats are not included! She is house-trained and clean in the home.
Shelagh knows a lot of commands such as “here”, ”sit” and “bring”. Naturally, she loves water but can be told “no” when she tries to jump in, especially when she spies a broken branch floating on the surface, because her one aim in life is to carry a stick or two or, better still, four if she can fit them into her mouth.
Shelagh loves to play with a ball and will bring it back. However, be prepared that she will tease the thrower until she decides she wants to it be thrown again or that the game is over.
