This is an urgent appeal for a pet-free, child-free foster home, available immediately, for Taro, a very handsome 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy. You need to be within a 3-hour drive of Cinderford, Gloucestershire.
Taro arrived in Oldies Club care recently as an emergency case after he had been surrendered to a vet for euthanasia because his owner was too ill to look after him. Oldies Club agreed to take Taro into our rescue, and he moved to one of our foster homes temporarily, but his foster carer is away very soon and so Taro needs a new foster home urgently.
We will arrange transport to Taro’s new foster home, but it needs to be within a 3-hour drive of Gloucestershire. Please only offer if your home is a good match for Taro’s needs and if you will be able to get forms filled in quickly and have a homecheck straight away. If you have holiday coming up over the next few months, this won’t work for fostering Taro.
As you can see, Taro is an extremely attractive boy, and he has a very friendly nature to match his good looks. He has lived with dogs previously, but as he hasn’t yet been neutered and has plenty of confidence, we are seeking a pet-free foster home for him. Taro seemed a little uncomfortable around a young child that visited his foster home, so we are looking for an adult foster home, or one where any children are sensible older teenagers.
He travels OK in the car while it is moving but becomes very anxious whenever it comes to a halt.
Taro has a health issue for which investigations have begun, but he does need further investigations. Oldies Club will pay for his medical care, and his special diet, while he is in foster. The main symptom Taro has is vomiting morning and evening, which began in his original home, a few weeks before he was surrendered to the vet. He is being treated with steroids and a hypoallergenic diet to keep the vomiting under control. He will probably need further scans and an endoscopy to properly determine the cause.
Although we are initially seeking a foster home, we would be very happy to hear from anyone wanting to foster Taro with a view to adopting him.
If you are staffy-experienced and feel you could help this very special boy by giving him all the care he is going to need, including taking him to the vets as and when required, and helping him on his road to recovery, we would love to hear from you ASAP. Hopefully the steroids and special diet will keep the vomiting at bay, but you will need to be prepared for these symptoms. If you have easy-clean flooring, and an easy-going attitude, that would be ideal.
Although we are initially seeking a foster home, we would be very happy to hear from anyone wanting to foster Taro with a view to adopting him.
