Benno is the sweetest little 10yr old chap looking for a quiet and calm forever home through Helping Cats and Dogs UK. He is currently being fostered in Basingstoke, Hampshire. A little terrier mix boy, he originated from Romania and spent many happy years in a loving home, but has sadly recently lost his beloved owner and so is now looking for a forever home in which to spend his twilight years.
Benno likes to take his time sizing you up before he can feel he can trust you, but once he does he is the most affectionate little boy. He loves kissy time and nothing more than snuggling up on a comfy lap for a nap. His new owner(s) must be prepared to let him take things at his own pace and not rush him until he is ready.
He would suit someone who is around most of the day. You might be retired, work from home or someone within the family is always about. In time the periods he could be left could undoubtably be built up, but he would not be right for someone that goes out to work and would leave him home alone.
Benno would love to share his home with another calm, friendly dog. He is great with others dogs he meets out on walks and really is a dogs dog ! If he is the only dog in the home, he would definitely need to be able to meet up with doggy chums for social time.
Benno hasn’t been tested with cats, so he’ll need a feline-free home. He could live with sensible children aged 12+ who understand when he needs quiet time. He would cope with younger visiting children as long as he has a safe, peaceful space to retreat to when he wishes.
A quiet, calm home where Benno has the company of his new owners for most of the day and receives plenty of attention, would make this wonderful boy incredibly happy.
