Billy may have reached the tender age of 13 and be partially deaf with his eyesight not as good as it once might have been, but he still has an important job as Office Dog at WOW, a graphic design company based in Swindon

Staffycross aims to obtain 8,000 “signatures” online, one for each of the 8,000 dogs destroyed in council pounds in the UK last year, according to the Dogs Trust 2005 Survey.

Billy (Oldies Club, Norfolk)
Fawn and cream terrier Billy was found dumped in a multi-storey car park. He was very sore – possibly having been hit by a car or kicked – and had had a very tough life. 22th May 2006 – Billy update Sadly, Billy has now had to be put to sleep.

Bruce (Meadowgreen, Norfolk)
Update 29/7/2006 We are very sad to report that Bruce suddenly became really unwell. The vet was called but nothing could be done and very sadly Bruce had to be put to sleep.

Taffy (Coventry RSPCA)

Rover (Pawz for Thought, Sunderland / Nth & Sth Tyneside)
Tragically, Rover’s tumour had advanced past the point where it could be removed and he has had to be put to sleep. Sleep tight handsome boy.
