3/9/2011 – We just had the sad news that Rambo was pts. Here is what his carer said about him:

Sadly Rambo died yesterday but he had a brilliant foster home and was a happy dog right up to the end. We’re going to miss his great character and how much he made us all laugh but I’m glad he got to spend his last months so contented.

Sleep tight, sweet boy.

12 year old Rambo is a gorgeous laid back Husky Cross. He is sadly back at the Blue Cross, Scotland – Pet Fostering Service due to the ill-health of the gentleman that recently adopted him. Poor Rambo – it had taken him almost a year to find that home, which seemed perfect for him, and now he’s back in rescue again. Let’s hope he doesn’t have to wait long this time.

Come on folks, if you’re looking for the companionship of a calm old boy, please consider helping Rambo!

Rambo gets on well with people, children, other dogs and cats. He also loves his walks and lots of cuddles.

Rambo enjoys his food and dog treats but he isn’t greedy. He doesn’t play with toys but he bounces around your feet and smiles! He is housetrained but he has an occasional accident at night as he is an older gentleman. He is deaf although this causes him no problems and he responds to hand signals. He also has a heart murmur and arthritis so has daily medication for this.

Rambo has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea-treated and wormed and will come with his creams and metacam to get his new owner started. The Blue Cross offers a supply of Hills Food, a month’s Pet Plan insurance, lifetime behaviour advice and coupons for Hills food. The Blue Cross can also make some financial assistance available to his adopters.

A representative of the Blue Cross tells us: “Rambo is the most laid back dog I have ever had the pleasure to foster. Yes, Rambo is old and has some health issues, but he is the most amazing, cheeky, cuddly, loving and loyal dog. He could fit into any household and will give nothing but love and affection. This special dog deserves a caring forever home. Could you offer this?”
