19/8/18 – Bella has found a home!

Dear Bella is a 16 year old, black and tan Jack Russell Terrier Cross, who is looking for an adult retirement home with new owners who know and love terriers. At this age, her new home really must be forever and Pro Dogs Direct are seeking a special person or couple who will be committed to her for the rest of her life.

Bella with a large friend!

Bella was rehomed and returned to the rescue after the new owner said she had toileted in the house. She has been back with her previous fosterer since then and has never had any accidents there at all, before or since. However, a new owner must accept this as a possibility. A single female owner would be ideal as Bella sometimes seems fearful of men. She dislikes being touched round her neck and putting on a lead must be done slowly and calmly.

Despite her age, Bella will rip the heads from her teddies and pull the stuffing out. She loves nothing more than a good session of teddy shredding; the good thing is that Bella is not destructive in any other way and is fine with all other household items and furniture. As with many terriers, she can be quite dominant with other dogs. With the right mix, she could be happy to share her home with another calm canine companion, but her preference would be as an only pet so she can have all the cuddles for herself.

Bella enjoys her walks but is not up to running any marathons due to a little arthritis. She doesn’t require medication for this as she is just a little stiff and has no other health problems. She has been neutered.

Bella is fine to be left for short periods and is quite happy to snooze the time away whilst waiting for cuddles upon your return. She loves cuddles, but on her own terms, like many terriers. Bella is house-trained, but some accidents are be expected while she learns the ropes in a new environment.
