Beautiful and bright Bling is a 7 year old, Labrador Retriever cross, probably Collie. He’s in the care of RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre in Taunton, Somerset. He wants to be the only pet at home but could maybe live with dog savvy children from age 12. He wants company most of the time. He likes to be active and he loves tennis balls!
RSPCA West Hatch say, “Bling has probably had an unsettled background as he takes a little while to get to know people but it is apparent that he wants to make friends and just needs a gentle, patient approach.
“Perhaps because of his background Bling has developed a passion for tennis balls that borders on the obsessive! Whilst this can be a source of amusement (he will find a ball in the most unlikely places), we are trying to introduce alternative sources of interest to break the habit, such as focusing on his handler.
“Bling is looking for a home as an only pet with people who have experience of rescue dogs such as collies and who are willing to continue his training.”
If you’re a collie lover you’ll appreciate Bling’s eagerness and incredible single-pointed focus on his purpose in life (i.e. tennis ball taming). You’ll also understand how his high intelligence can make him cautious about some things and that he’ll need you to project calmness. But equally, you’ll know that once he’s bonded with you, he will be your canine soul mate – making your life complete (as well as more fun!).
Bling is neutered and healthy. He’d love for you to visit so he can show off his amazing skills!
