19/8/18 – Jack has found a home!

Loving Jack is a male English Bull X Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is 8 years old. He’s a handsome, medium-sized dog, mainly tan with white on his muzzle, chest and front legs. He was originally at the Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home because of his owner’s ill health, and he is now back at the Ark because his recent adopter has also become too ill to care for him. Poor Jack!

Jack just loves people but can be boisterous. He has not lived with children and loves them but can be bouncy around them. He has lived with a cat and was good with it, but has never lived with another dog although he is OK when he meets them.

Jack is quite a lively boy and is strong so needs somebody who can handle him and he shouldn’t live with young children. Jack isn’t known to have shown any aggression and he’s good in kennels but can get stressed. He’s house-trained and is very good in the house and can be left for a reasonable time.

Jack is used to sleeping in his own bed and travels well in the car but doesn’t like being in a cage. He walks quite well on the lead but is a very strong dog and his recall is unknown. He likes playing tug with ropes and other toys but has a tendency to pull them to pieces. He needs an active home with older children due to his boisterous nature.

Jack has been neutered and his vaccinations are up-to-date. He can sometimes have a pollen allergy which affects his skin at certain times of the year and has been prescribed Piriton tabs, 4mgs, which work well. Otherwise, Jack is fit and well and eats Arden Grange complete with tinned food in jelly (he doesn’t like meat in gravy!).
