Cuddly Kanga is a beautiful soul looking for a new, forever home due to a change in family circumstances. She’s currently living in Tyne & Wear under the care of Friends of Akitas.
Kanga is a friendly, 7 year old female Akita who enjoys strokes and cuddles from people once she knows them. With new people, she is perfectly polite, albeit more reserved and cautious. Once she warms up, she is affectionate, sociable and playfully vocal.
Kanga has lived in a family setting with young children and shows no trace of toy or food aggression. Note however that this may not be the case if another dog is around and new owners will have to monitor this initially. She seems able to live with both male and female dogs, although she would best be suited to a home with a laid-back and confident male (pending successful introductions) if prospective new owners have another dog. It’s not known how Kanga is with cats.
Kanga understands her basic commands beautifully and is both lead and house-trained. She can be left alone for a few hours a day and is reportedly non-destructive.
