28/7/18 – Logan has been rehomed.
Please meet Logan, a handsome, gentle, calm and unassuming Collie. Logan has spent 2 years in a harsh Romanian public shelter and is now happily in a foster home in Dersingham, Kings Lynn, provided by Safe Rescue who just would love to find him his forever, true home.
According to his passport (born 08.07.08), Logan is almost 10-years-old although he could be younger. When he first came into his foster home, he was very scared and hid for a week or so, unable even to look at his carer. With some gentle persuasion, he finally started to interact with the other dogs and then with the humans, but he is still very affected by his past traumas.
Logan is still very scared of hands. This means that he prefers to stay out of reach and still won’t look at hands or take a treat directly. Stroking him makes him freeze and cower, though he is making steady progress with this. When it is walk time, he comes to the back door with the other dogs, but tenses up and bows his head to put the lead on him. Then, as soon as he’s off, he relaxes, his tail goes up and he sets about sniffing all the wonderful smells, just so happy to be out and about.
Having said that, Logan is the perfect dog in nearly every way: he is 100% clean in the house, is a gentleman around the other dogs (occasionally having a gentle play), he walks beautifully on the lead, comes when called, sometimes sits on command, and is quiet and calm around the house and is happy to be left with the other dogs. Logan now wags his tail sedately whenever someone comes home or speaks to him.
