20/7/18 – Marley has found a home!

How handsome is Marley? Answer: Very! This lovable boy ended up at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue after being picked up as an unclaimed stray. He is about 8 years old and has American Bulldog in him, along with some other breeds. The result is cute!
Marley must have lived in a home at some time, because he is very well behaved and arrived with knowledge of how to sit, lie down, give paw and wait. His toilet manners in kennels have been impeccable and when he is playing or interacting with his handler, he is as gentle as a small breed, even though he is pretty sizable!
Marley loves to play with toys and he really likes to chase after a ball, although he does need encouragement to bring it back to you so you can throw it again. He also loves to play tuggy with his handler and is incredibly gentle while doing so.
Marley has enjoyed interacting with the other dogs at the centre and is very playful. He will initiate play with them, but will lie own once he’s tired since he isn’t as fit as he should be. He needs to lose a bit of weight so his new owners should be dedicated to helping him with this. Gentle exercise building up gradually will help and then he can enjoy longer walks with his new family. He could share his home with another like-minded dog and with children over 11.
In the right home, this gentle giant will make a wonderful, fun and loving addition to a home with some previous dog experience.
