26/3/18 – Moses has found a new home!

Sadly, poor Moses has been living a life of hell where he was in a public shelter in Romania and often attacked by other dogs, sometimes so badly he had to be taken to the vet for treatment, only to be returned to the company of his attackers once more. He would love to find a peaceful home to enjoy the comforts he’s missed and Safe Rescue are helping him to find that loving person(s). Meantime, he is in foster care in Great Yarmouth.

Moses is a large Crossbreed and is 8 years old (born 19/7/2009). He still has an aura of sadness that’s hard to see. Although he would try to get up high and out of the way of the other dogs, his battered and abused body struggled to perch out of reach as the years passed by. He became depressed and withdrawn, not trusting anyone and existing in the lonely bubble he created for himself.

Luckily, Moses was brought to the U.K. and a new life. After his foster carer bathed him, much to his disgust, beneath were the years of filth and many scars all over his body. His face is a map of the traumas of his life and his poor ears are in tatters. So, it’s not surprising that he is not the easiest dog to love because he has no idea what it is to give or receive love. He is not used to human handling and can rebel against it at times, but his carer cannot help but love this battered old soul regardless of his objections.

Walks can be a bit slow as, after so many years behind bars, he wants to stop and sniff everything …. practically every blade of grass! He is stubborn and puts the brakes on if you try to actually get anywhere with him, so he is being taken to a local field and just letting him do his own thing; he deserves to make some decisions in his own life after years of incarceration.

A special someone is needed to love this dear, stubborn and quite cantankerous old boy and give him some compensation years for all he’s been through. Maybe he will never be loving and affectionate to anyone because maybe that’s the way life has moulded him. Yet there is already a glimmer of something like appreciation in his ageing eyes. He wags his tail at feed time and the walks are the most exciting thing that’s happened to him in years.

It would really be lovely if someone could offer him a peaceful place to call home and to be with few or no other dogs. A place where he can just be spoiled with all the luxuries he’s always been denied.
