21/10/18 – Prince has been rehomed!

Gorgeous little Prince is a Cairn Terrier/Westie Cross aged 13 years though he doesn’t know that and is still a lively boy. He is being cared for by Helping Pets North East until his new owner takes him home.

Prince is very social and quick to bond with new people. He is intelligent and food-orientated which makes him easy to train. His foster family have already started some work on hand signals as he is hard of hearing and what hearing he does still have will probably continue to fade.

Prince is used to being left for a few hours at a time and settles quickly. He travels well in the car. He can be let off the lead; so long as you have treats he doesn’t go far. He is house-trained.

Prince gets on with other dogs but prefers quieter dogs that aren’t too much in his face and aren’t likely to give him any surprises. For the most part, Prince is fairly indifferent to other dogs so long as they aren’t overly full-on with him.

Prince could live with children but they would need to be older as, due to being a little hard of hearing, he can get surprised if you touch him suddenly and he hasn’t seen you, so he would likely struggle living with young children. Prince cannot live with cats and is not tested around small furries, but he shows no particular reaction to livestock seen outside.

Currently, Prince has no major health concerns apart from his hearing and, given his breed and age, his vision is likely to fade in the future. He does have a few lumps and bumps but nothing that presents any concerns or causes him any discomfort. He will be brought up-to-date with vaccinations before being rehomed and is microchipped.
