25/05/18 – Stripe has found a new home!
Stripe is a beautiful nine-year-old, sweet natured and loving Akita girl who wants a home with a family that loves her. This beauty has been in rescue for far too long at Friends of the Akitas Trust UK. She is living in a comfy foster home at the moment, but she would so love a permanent human or humans around her! Her foster mum reports that she is an absolute joy to have around!
Beautiful looks aside, Stripe is a calm lady who enjoys the simple pleasures of life. She endears herself to all who meet her and spend time with her. She loves human attention, strokes and cuddles. And she can be counted on keeping you company in front of the telly, as well as on a companionable stroll in the park.
Because of her gentle disposition, Stripe could probably live with a similarly natured male dog. She would be find with older children (12+) as long as they are used to dogs, and will take it easy on an older lady! Stripe is an easy girl to take care of; she is good on the lead, house trained and has no issues around food or even someone taking her toys!

As with some large dogs, Stripe does have arthritis in her back knees. That said, the condition is manageable and she does not require regular medication. What she would need, however, is a daily supplement of Joint Aid. Other than that, she lives life as a normal happy pooch.
Just as humans deserve a happy retirement to enjoy their golden years, dogs deserve that too, as we all know here at the Oldies Club. Stop and smell the roses, share a joke with Stripe – life is always better with a dog!
