30/12/19 – Benny has found a home!

Dear Benny is yet another boy with a sad history who deserves a loving place to enjoy for the rest of his life. He is currently enjoying being cared for in a foster home in Norwich (FR076) provided by Safe Rescue.

Benny is a medium-sized Crossbreed whose passport states him to be 6 years old but it’s thought he is a little older, more around 8. He is the sweetest, daftest, gentlest dog you will ever meet. Other dogs adore him and he adores them. He is lovely with all people, enjoys gentle exercise on his three legs and is loving his new UK life. The icing on his cake would of course be a home of his own.

Benny was living in a cage in a private Romanian shelter with a badly broken and deformed leg. His owner was paying to keep him there, but he’d clearly been swinging that leg around for years, and there was no plan to sort it and no plan for him to leave the shelter ever.

The owner agreed for Benny to come into Safe Rescue’s care and he was taken to a clinic to have the useless, heavy limb removed. Several weeks later and he was ready to travel, but the final blow of bad luck was his blood tests coming back to reveal him as heartworm positive. He has a two-year course of monthly tablets that will go out with him on adoption to remedy this.

Benny is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
