2/3/19 – Rocco has found a new home!

Rocco is a white Chihuahua x JRT boy who is 8 years old and weighs 7 kg. He is at Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, Tring, Hertfordshire.

Rocco is a lively, affectionate little boy. He has been a much-loved and well-cared-for companion of a retired lady. He has always enjoyed daily walks in the countryside of about an hour and then plenty of home comforts interspersed with ball games in the garden.

Now that his former owner is very unwell and can no longer look after Rocco, CDRS would love to be able to pass on the news that Rocco is making a new life with someone who will love and care for him as she has always done.

While Rocco is happy to walk with other dogs on lead, he would prefer to be only dog in the home. He is not used to living with cats and is anxious around children and, initially, unfamiliar men – but he is getting more comfortable around the male staff and volunteers at the Rescue Centre.

A quiet home with a single person or couple, without children or visiting young grandchildren, would be ideal for Rocco. He enjoys his walks and loves to travel in the car. He can also be left for a few hours at a time if necessary.

Rocco is very fit and active, but, like many smaller dogs, he has luxating patellas. These require no treatment and do not impact his quality of life in the slightest though; he just walks with a skip and a jump. He is vaccinated, neutered, and no other health issues have been detected.

Could you offer Rocco a home as special as his previous home?
