Frank is a 9-year-old crossbreed who is with Animal Action Trust, in Essex. Frank lost his owner only a couple of weeks ago and is feeling rather sad. He lived alone with his elderly lady owner. Poor Frank needs another chance to feel secure and loved.

Frank is insecure at present and, if his guardian leaves him, he shakes. He has easily transferred all his trust to the lady who is his present carer. He trusts her with his food dish and with taking him out to the garden. However if she is not around, he will not go in the garden. If he is eating, only she can go to his food bowl without him growling. He has not bitten anyone. The other household members are children and he has been patient with them, but poor Frank is not used to being in a family home and would be much happier in a quiet home, perhaps with occasional visits from a grandchild.

He is clean in the home and waits to go out. He doesn’t like rain, but on fine days he enjoys a good 30-minute stroll and sniff, twice a day. He barks at other dogs but he did live for 4 years with a Chihuahua, though he hasn’t had proper socialising.

Frank loves a cuddle and is fine about being groomed. He is an alert boy and is a very good house dog. He owns lots of toys but at present has shown little interest, though it’s very early days. He sleeps downstairs.

Frank needs a quiet, mature adult-only home with people around almost all day. You must understand that he will be reserved at first as he fears what is going to happen to him next, but given time and patience he will trust and be a sweet companion.

Could you offer Frank his ideal home?
