Pretty Poppy’s owner is in hospital and can no longer provide the care she has given for almost 10 years, so Poppy now finds herself looking for a lovely, forever home with the help of Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire.
Poppy is a 10 year old, white and black Jack Russell X Fox Terrier bitch. She is a happy, friendly, little dog with a delightful nature and, despite her years, she is full of the joys of Spring and loves nothing more than a long walk in the woods – she can easily manage an hour and a half of walking most days, so an active owner will be a priority, as will a secure garden for her to explore.
Poppy travels well and would love to go on trips out when possible or the occasional caravan holiday. She gets on well with people of all ages and would be pleased to mix with visiting grandchildren over the age of 10. She is also happy to be around other dogs provided sensible introductions are made and she does not feel overwhelmed by an over enthusiastic greeting.
Being a true terrier, a home without cats or other small animals would be recommended for dear Poppy. She can be left alone for a few hours provided she receives lots of attention and tummy rubs during the rest of the day.
Poppy is extremely fit and active for her age and has no known health issues. She has recently had a dental and has been spayed.
This delightful, waggy-tailed lady would make the perfect walking companion and best friend to someone newly retired, and she can’t wait to meet that special person with the same zest for life as she shows every day.
