23/4/2020 Such good news, Sky has finally gone off to her new home and is getting on great!

This beautiful lady is Sky, a 9 year old German Shepherd who is getting very stressed in kennels, despite the love of all the staff and volunteers at Leicester Animal Aid. They all adore her as she’s a really sweet older girl but sadly, they all have dogs at home already and Sky needs to be an only pet in an adult only home.
German Shepherds are highly intelligent, of course, and Sky is no exception. She therefore would like to address you herself, “Age has made me wise and loyal to those who love me and life has taught me many lessons apart from what size I am; I still try to sit on your knee for a cuddle. Like a typical sweet old lady you can’t help but melt when you see my face and for the enthusiasm I have with life itself!
“A lover of toys and food, my new owner must have endless supplies. I may be older but I still want to play and you can certainly teach old dogs new tricks! These legs are still raring to go but to make life easier I am happy as a garden dog as long as you are there to keep me entertained.
“An adult only home though please without any visiting children as the hustle and bustle of them does worry me a little… my ears can’t take the noise anymore I’m afraid. Life as a single animal suits me fine so all the attention is on beautiful me and the loyal bond between myself and my owner can be made.
Sky is such a loving, gentle lady and yearns to find her human soul mate, it’s sad to think of her pining away in kennels!
Her dislike of other dogs is the only issue holding her back and is the reason it’s thought she’ll be happy without walks but with a big, secure garden and plenty of playtime.
German Shepherds only need a moderate amount of exercise even when young and Sky is definitely not young anymore. She’d do best living in a quiet area and cannot have neighbouring dogs or she wouldn’t enjoy her garden time. She deserves a peaceful retirement. Could that be with you?
