Yakari is an 8-year-old medium-large Crossbreed boy who is with Love Underdogs in Waltham Abbey, Essex.
He spent many years in a very sad pound in Romania before coming to the UK to find a better future. He shared a cage with Chester, Emily and Koshi at the pound and arrived a sad and broken boy. It took Love Underdogs a little while to get a smile, but once he felt safe Yakari became a new dog. Yakari will need to be visited a couple of times before going on a home trial.
Yakari is very people-focussed now and he loves spending time with the LU team and having a good play. You can really get him going with his toys and his party trick is to spin. He loves going round and round – it’s his little dance and celebration that he does when he’s happy.
Now that he’s able to make choices for himself, Yakari has decided he prefers people to dogs. He went through a phase of not being happy around other dogs, but he now has a number of canine best friends who he loves, including Koshi and Tegen. Yakari will be great as an only dog or with a submissive and patient female. He loves his time in the field, enjoys walks and needs an active home where he will have the exercise he needs.
Yakari would like a compassionate and happy household. He needs an adult-only home with people who are keen to help a dog move forward in life and who understand that at the start he may find a few things worrying, but with time and love it will all come together beautifully. He is looking for an active home with access to a garden. He would get on with the right dog (submissive female), after introductions at kennels, but will do well as an only dog. He can’t live with cats.
All Love Underdogs’ dogs are rehomed with a home trial for 2 weeks before a formal adoption. Love Underdogs offer behaviourist support for the lifetime of the dog.
Yakari has the potential to be someone’s super special boy, so if you are looking for a lovely dog who hasn’t had the best start in life, be sure to consider him.
