26/06/2020 – At long last Zeus has been adopted, having been featured as Oldies Club’s Old Dog of the Week. Happy snuggles Zeus!
Happy, steady Zeus is a lovely Crossbreed boy of around 7 years who, inexplicably, has been waiting for 3 whole years for his forever family to find him. He’s in the care of East Anglia Dog Rescue in Colchester, Essex. Hardly the middle of nowhere, so why haven’t they shown up yet?!
Staff and volunteers at the rescue can’t understand it. He’s friendly, well behaved and lots of fun! He loves playing football with people.
The football doesn’t always stay spherical very long but he enjoys making everyone laugh, running round with it in his mouth. Being at the centre of the silliness!
Zeus is a good boy in the home. He’s clean and fine to be left for a couple of hours. He’s not keen on cats and they prefer to avoid him too. On walks he can be strong on the lead, just out of enthusiasm. He’s a gentle soul with good manners.
Zeus is good with most other dogs. He can be picky about entire males or little, quick ones. Sensible, medium sized females are more his cup of tea and he’d be happy to live with one, after nice introductions. He might be OK with a friendly neutered male as long as the getting-to-know-you goes well.
Zeus can live with older children, from age 8. In fact, he’d really enjoy some fun-loving teenagers for gallivanting around with and you can never have too many humans for fuss and cuddles. He loves people of all ages but little ones could get bowled over during play time!
Zeus needs a particular diet which the rescue can explain. If he eats whatever he wants, he gets allergies and itchy skin. It’s very easy to control by avoiding the wrong things. It just takes a lot of will power to resist any soulful glances he might throw your way when you’re eating something he can’t…
…but he’d thank you if he could understand. Luckily, he’s so keen on his toys, he’s easy to distract!
