25/12/21 – Bennie has been adopted!

Adorable Bennie is a 12 year old Border Terrier Cross who, sadly, was taken by his owners to the vets to be euthanised as they were moving. Happily and luckily for Bennie, the vet contacted a local rescue who then got in touch with Oldies Club who immediately found him a loving foster home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, where he is enjoying life and looking forward to going to his forever home.

Good in the home: It didn’t take long for Bennie to make himself at home, about two days, and then he put his paws firmly under the table. There doesn’t seem to be anything that bothers him or he is frightened of.

Needs someone around: Benny has issues with being left, but he is gradually being left for short periods. He does suffer from separation anxiety and will wee when left alone. He would not be happy with full-time workers with only a lunch-time break.

Pets in the home: Bennie is not keen on other dogs and likes to have his humans all to himself for the love and fuss. He does bark at cats but nothing else.

Good with children: Bennie absolutely adores children and is extremely good with them.

Out and about: Bennie is very good on the lead but has not been let off the lead yet, so his carers are not sure what his recall would be like. He usually has a walk of about half an hour.

Good in the car: Bennie loves going for a ride in the car and enjoys looking out of the window.

Bennie’s favourite pastimes: Eating, sleeping and being with his people.

The perfect home: Bennie’s dream home would be with people around most of the time and a nice garden to potter around in.

Health notes: Bennie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. He has Insulinoma and takes a tablet every other day. He needs to be feed little and often to keep his sugar levels up but, looking at him, you would not think there was anything wrong with him.

More from Bennie’s foster carer: He is loving, nosy, sweet and bossy. Bennie is a very caring little chap and loves to cuddle up on the sofa or on the bed and will follow you everywhere. He is clean indoors and is a very clean little dog in himself. He does like to have a play with his toys every so often. He loves his walks although they have to be kept quite short due to his condition.
