Gorgeous Butch is a large, 10 year old boy in the care of 1 Dog At A Time Rescue at their kennels in Northamptonshire. He’s come on in leaps and bounds since he’s been with them and is now a happy, fairly lively dog who absolutely loves a fuss!

Butch likes most female dogs but is less keen on males. Small furries are a definite no. With humans, once he knows them, he is very affectionate. He’ll tell you how much he enjoys being stroked with grumbles and groans!

His loving nature is all the more endearing as he suffered neglect for much of his life. Unlike most of 1 Dog At A Time‘s dogs, he’s from the UK and was an urgent welfare case. He was previously on a poor diet with no exercise and he was in a weak and sorry state. With TLC and three short walks a day he’s steadily gained in strength and enthusiasm for life.

Butch now loves going for walks! He starts off strong on the lead because he’s so excited to be out exploring. He does settle down and he only needs moderate exercise but his size and strength must be considered by potential adopters. A good garden is a must for this outdoorsy boy. He wants to be able to lounge in the sun when the mood takes him, knowing that you’re nearby.

If you want a loving, loyal, soul mate of a dog to take for walks in the countryside, then look no further than beautiful Butch!
