Little Eddie is a cute 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier whose original owner sadly died. Eddie is with Rescue Remedies, in boarding kennels near Gatwick, West Sussex.
Eddie is a very affectionate chap who spent his first seven years living in a single-person household. He is therefore looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he is your only pet. Poor Eddie has been waiting in kennels for two years now and he must be feeling extremely fed-up. Let’s hope his ideal home is just on the horizon and he will be spotted by the perfect person here on the Oldies Club website.
It took Eddie a while to settle into kennel life as, apart from anything else, he was grieving for his owner. He did find a new home briefly, soon after his arrival at Rescue Remedies, but Eddie was not ready for so many changes in such a short space of time, and he nipped one of the people there. This is not the Eddie that Rescue Remedies now know and love and so it must have purely been down the stress of leaving his old life, being in kennels and then suddenly in a new and totally unfamiliar situation with people that he didn’t know.
Eddie gets on well with other dogs that he is walked with at the kennels. And the volunteer dog walkers have very high opinions of Eddie, as you can read below.
One volunteer said: “Another great walk with Eddie. As always he was good-natured, friendly and happy (he always seems to have a smile on his face). I’m sure all walkers sing his praises – he is hard to fault with his sweet demeanour. His home must be coming soon.”
Another volunteer commented: “Eddie was his usual adorable self, stopping, sitting and turning his back to elicit the maximum amount of cuddles. And how could you not? Time spent with this little chap is extremely worthwhile and hopefully the hotter weather will resume soon so we can do some sitting in the sun and chillaxing whilst giving Eddie his cuddle fix.”
Eddie has enjoyed a couple of short foster breaks away from kennels. In these breaks the fosterer commented on how affectionate and loving Eddie is and what an easy little dog he is to have in the house. He is calm and clean and just loves having human company. He’s an older boy now and shows none of the extreme terrier characteristics that younger dogs can have. His needs are quite simple – a calm environment and the love and attention of his owner.
Eddie does not like surprises and therefore it would be wise to let him settle slowly and unpack his little case at his own pace. He needs to get to know you, and once he does know you, as all his walkers will testify, he is the most affectionate little terrier who simply wants to please.
Could you offer Eddie a quiet, adult-only home?
Note: Rescue Remedies have specific on-lead requirements for their adopted dogs. They also cannot guarantee to reply to unsuccessful homing applications.
Please mention that you saw Eddie on the Oldies Club website.
