08/06/2022: Lola has been adopted! Hooray!

Soppy girl Lola is a 10-year-old Collie Cross in the care of Foal Farm Animal Rescue in Kent. She’s looking for an adult-only home as an only pet, which is relatively near to Foal Farm and with owners who like ball throwing!

It took Lola a while to get to know staff at the rescue because she’s quite timid, especially with men. Familiarity and treats (cheese for preference) have helped her form a lovely relationship with all of them now, including volunteer walkers. She’s super affectionate with everyone now!

Sadly Lola isn’t coping well in kennels. It’s thought that some of her fear behaviour could be influenced by the stress of the environment. She’s been there for a long time and the big wide world can be overwhelming. It’s possible she’s been overlooked either because of her age or because her eyes look unusual. You soon see past that to the beautiful soul that she is.

Foal Farm say, “Lola’s favourite activity is playing ball and she enjoys lovely walks with her volunteer walkers. She walks very well with other dogs. We would love for Lola to find that special home to call her own and someone who loves her as much as we do.

“We require someone who is willing to come to Foal for a number of introductions to gain her trust in order for this to be a successful happy ending. An adult-only and pet free home will suit Lola. A home with few visitors would be ideal and please note Lola would not suit a home where there are visiting children.”
