Lovely Lottie is a 13 year old (born 17/5/2009), tan Terrier Cross bitch who was actually born at Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire. She has been living happily in a family home until a change of circumstances meant her distraught owners had to return her to CDRS.

Lottie is a happy, friendly, little lady who enjoys a fuss being made of her. She is good at meeting people, including older children, and has lived with another Terrier dog for the past 9 years, but she would be content to be the only dog in the home. Typical of most Terriers, Lottie can be quite independent and knows what she wants, which includes chasing the neighbours’ cats out of the garden if given the chance.

It is hard to believe Lottie is a senior lady. She loves her walks and quite happily copes with an hour of brisk exercise in the woods most days, with a secure garden to explore when she gets home. She walks well on a lead and is said to have good recall in familiar areas.

Lottie can be left on her own for a few hours at a time without complaining and is relaxed when taken out in the car. Like many dogs, Lottie is not keen on fireworks or having her nails cut, but she is generally very accepting of most new things.

Lottie is also very fit for her age. Her teeth and heart are in great shape and she is a good weight at just under 8kg. A few aged-related problems have been noted: a couple of small warts on her tail and a sty on her eyelid which will not require any treatment unless it grows. She had a single episode of pancreatitis in 2017 but recovered well and this has not recurred and keeping her on a low-fat diet is recommended.
