16/4/22 – Meg has found a home!
Mighty Meg was an unclaimed stray from the pound sadly. The poor little lady hasn’t had the easiest of lives; when she arrived with All Animals Rescue & Rehome in Essex, it took her a few days to stop spinning in circles as she had clearly been kept in a confined space for a long time. She was also underweight and needed dental work.
Meg is a 7 – 8 year old Jack Russell/Dachshund Cross. She is beautiful and will make a very rewarding addition to her new family. She is a very sweet little girl who doesn’t appear to have had much in the way of affection in her life as she doesn’t seem to understand what it’s like to be cuddled. In fact, in the beginning even touch was too much for her, but she is much happier now.
Meg is very responsive, quick to learn and easy to train. She loves her home comforts and is getting used to a cuddle. When she is outside, she is a different dog – she loves going for a walk and, for a terrier, she has amazing recall. She loves to chase and play ball and is really attentive to her human. The staff regularly use a 4-acre, secure field and, as soon as she is called, she comes flying back.
Being older, Meg would prefer an older person or couple to live with. She cannot live with children as there is no prior history for her. She travels very well in the car. She is house-trained, walks well on the lead, is not destructive and can be left for short periods. Meg appears quite indifferent to dogs, so maybe a quiet, laid-back dog would suit her. Equally, she would be happy as the only dog. Meg has not been cat-tested.
Meg is neutered, microchipped and flea/worm treated.
