19/2/23 – Neeve has been rehomed

Neeve is a wonderful, female German Shepherd aged 8 years. This lovely lady has had a really tough time in her life and is desperately seeking a forever family who can offer her the loving home she truly deserves. She has been with Teckels in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, for a long time now and it’s time for that forever home.
Neeve may be described as a ‘tatty teddy’ to some, but really her looks only make her cuter and show how resilient this girl can really be. She was temporarily living in a foster home before where she settled well, slept through the night and was housetrained. Although this cannot be guaranteed, she has shown great potential to be a clean and well-mannered housemate. She can be left on her own for a couple of hours and, although enjoys being out on her walks, isn’t massively demanding when it comes to exercise.
Neeve is really clever, loves training treats and picks up new things easily. She also loves playing with toys although it’s recommended she is not left unattended with toys filled with stuffing – oops! As Neeve will need to stay on her lead when out in public, she will need a secure garden to be able to stretch her legs safely and play all her favourite games.
Neeve can find certain parts of the world a little tricky, particularly in areas with busy roads and lots of dogs and can be reactive when it all gets ‘too much’. She would be best suited to a quieter area with access to countryside walks away from the hustle and bustle of all things scary. Neeve would like to live with adults only and would need to be the only pet in the home.
Neeve can be a little worried and avoid people she doesn’t know, but she is super tactile and loves a good neck scratch once she has made friends. She would prefer a home with few visitors and may need her new family to come to the centre regularly to get to know her before she comes home.
Neeve has some issues with her skin which are currently being well managed with the help of the Rescue’s vet and Teckels are more than happy to discuss this further with any potential adopters.
