Pretty Poppy has lived in the same home for most of her life but, unfortunately, long-term health issues within the family have resulted in Poppy needing to find a home. She is currently being cared for by the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire, until her lovely new owner takes her home.

Poppy is a tri-colour, short-coated Jack Russell Cross bitch and was 10 years old in May 2022. She weighs just 7kg. Poppy is a happy, friendly, little dog who is surprisingly active for her years. She loves her daily walks; at the moment, these are mainly on-lead but she can be let off in enclosed areas where she returns reliably.

Poppy would suit someone with a fairly settled lifestyle who is looking for a loyal friend and walking companion. She is comfortable when going out with other dogs but would prefer not to share her new life with one – or indeed cats.

Poppy travels well in the car and is happy to be left for a few hours at a time when necessary. Visiting older children would be welcomed as she is used to living with a teenager, and a very busy home environment might prove too overwhelming.

Poppy has just had her first inoculation but is not yet spayed as she has just been in season. She has come through her vet check with flying colours with no health issues detected apart from a very small, inoffensive lump above one tooth which requires no treatment.
