1/10/22 – Ricky’s found a home!

Ricky is a small to medium sized (15kg) Crossbreed boy of 8 years who’s looking for a home with at least one other dog. He’s in a multi-dog foster home in Norwich, Norfolk through Safe Rescue.

Ricky was born in a shelter in Romania and was the only one of the litter not to be adopted. He grew up in the shelter and spent eight years of mostly wasted life there. He did build up excellent doggy social skills!

Ricky came to the UK a few weeks ago and had adapted well to domestic life. He is dependent on the company of other dogs and will need at least one other dog to follow around in his forever home. Ricky is happy to be fussed and loves to be talked to but it doesn’t yet occur to him to approach for a cuddle, this will come in time.

Ricky walks well on a lead but is out of shape and tires quickly so will need to build up to a proper level of exercise. Walkies are new to him but he loves being out with his pals.

Ricky passed his cat testing and could live with a confident, dog savvy cat.

He’s a comical little character who is really beginning to come into his own. It’s a real tragedy that he wasted so many years of his life but it’s not too late to make the second half of his life count!

Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks for the duration of their lives. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full information about their rehoming policy is on Ricky’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook page.
